Reminders … School Hours: 8.55-3pm Children are able to enter classrooms at 8.30. Please encourage your child to put their own bag, bookbags, library books and other items away when they arrive so they are ready to start the school day. Becoming more independent and taking responsibility for these tasks is very important. Library: Each class will visit the Library once a week. Scooter Days: Your child is able to bring their scooter to school on Tuesday and Thursday. School Lunch: Available on Wednesday and Friday. A menu is available from the School office or our website - www.churtonpark.school.nz Lost Property: There is a lost property bin in the foyer of the Hall for those lost items. Clothing: Please continue to name your child’s clothing. It is important that your child brings something to wear to keep warm at morning tea and lunch time. Even on cold days we send the children outside for fresh air and a chance to play. Please also assist your child by teaching them how to tie shoelaces and do up buttons. This will be especially important at gymnastics time. |
Art shirts: If your child is in Room 2, could they please bring an art shirt to school to save their clothing. A man’s shirt with the sleeves cut down would be fine.
Parent Help: We welcome parents at Churton Park School and value any help you can give us. If you are able to help on either a regular or occasional basis, or would be able to do things at home, please let your classroom teacher know. They will suggest times and activities that they need help with. Please approach your child’s teacher if you can help with these tasks. J Block Assembly: Next week we would like to invite you to attend a J Block Assembly in J Block at 2.15 on Friday 30 April. Each class will present an item, followed by an Art Exhibition where you will be able to visit all the rooms in J Block with your child to appreciate and admire the artwork on display. We are very proud of the children’s efforts in their Painting unit in Term 1. Visits and visitors this term: We have some really interesting things happening this term (see the calendar on page 1). Separate letters will be sent home regarding each visit closer to the time of the visit/event. The first letter home will be about the Zoo visit on Monday 3 May.
