Thank you for engaging in the consultation process about the establishment of a new school at Churton Park. Your Board of Trustees was involved as your roll may be affected by the establishment of the new school.
Having considered all the feedback from the consultation I have decided that the new school at Churton Park will be a Year 1-6 school. I have also ensured that provision has been made for increasing the capacity of Raroa Normal Intermediate School and Newlands Intermediate School.
The next stage of the process for the new school is the appointment of the establishment board of trustees. While there are quite a few details to be finalised, I consider that this is an exciting time for the Churton Park community and for the wider schooling network.
Ministry of Education staff will continue to advise and assist your Board in respect of school property management matters while the new school is being developed.
