Annual Report

Refer to National Administration Guidelines: 1 (ii), (iii) & 2 (iii)

RATIONALE:

Students develop in the social, physical, emotional and intellectual areas, and parents will be informed of this development on a regular basis.

PURPOSES:
1. To inform parents of their child’s progress and achievements.

2. To establish common goals with parents and their children which can be jointly pursued.

GUIDELINES:
1. Parent Conferences:

March - all parents will be given an opportunity to see teachers, share ideas about their child and discuss future learning needs.

July/August - all parents will be given an opportunity to discuss their child’s progress and achievement and discuss next learning steps.

Both the March and July/August conferences will be 15 minutes duration.

2. Should a longer conference be deemed necessary then another mutually convenient time will be arranged. Follow-up Teacher/Parent contacts may take place at regular intervals.

3. Written reports to be sent home in December and an opportunity for Teachers/Parents to discuss these if required.

4. Parents and Teachers can request a conference at any time by appointment.

5. All reporting will include social, attitudinal and academic performance and will include aspects for ongoing development.

6. All comments should be able to be supported by evidence.

Self Review

1. This policy will be reviewed in accordance with the Boards triennial programme of self review.

2. The Board process will involve consultation with senior management, school staff and the parent community.

3. The reviewed policy will be made available to members of the school community once ratified by the Board.
